AXIS is currently hiring an Office Coordinator.

The Office Coordinator supervises, monitors, supports and coordinates all the activities necessary to ensure the smooth flow of day-to-day operations. They are responsible for planning, organization, and controlling the clerical aspect of the organization, including the preparation, communication, coordination and storage of data to support production and other important operations of the organization. This role reports directly to, and works closely with, the Managing Director.

Success in this position will depend upon the following skills, traits and requirements:

• A strong commitment to the mission, goals and work of AXIS Dance Company.
• Experience in Salesforce is recommended
• Experience working with Quickbooks is recommended
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Office Management
• Able to coordinate a number of activities with multiple components requiring independent follow through and attention to detail
• Able to work to organize and prioritize projects, and take initiative
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Comfortable in a multi-task environment with frequent interruptions and short deadlines, and some times a high degree of pressure
• Must be able to work flexible hours when needed
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Familiarity with Mac and PC word processing platforms
• Intermediate Excel, Word and Power Point skills
• Strong knowledge and comfort working with and managing technology systems
• Self-starter with the ability to start and manage tasks independently
• Ability to take direction
• Effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact with management, staff, dancers, and community
• Experience working with people of all ages, socio-economic backgrounds, physical abilities, ethnicities, and sexualities

AXIS is seeking individuals to join the AXIS Board who have a strong personal commitment to our mission; deep leadership experience; and powerful relationship-building and network-building practices. Find out more


Fall Intern 2014
You’ll be an integral part of our behind-the-scenes staff team, seeing a professional dance company in action and gaining hand’s on experience in arts administration.  You will dive in to help alongside Karl Cronin, Managing Director, Office Coordinator, Annika Presley, Education Director, and Sarah Clautero, Development Manager. Part of the fun is also seeing the Company in rehearsals, youth assemblies, classes and more!

Transportation Stipend plus waived tuition fees for studio classes and the Summer Intensive. Academic credit if applicable.

Internship dates:

Sept – Dec, 2014 (12 weeks)

Application Deadline:

June 15, 2015

Time Commitment:

15 hours per week

  • Basic computer knowledge (including MS Word and Excel)
  • Excellent phone and people skills
  • Enthusiasm for working with a team and the public
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently
