2024 AXIS Choreo-Lab

May 28 @ 8:00 am June 8 @ 5:00 pm PDT

AXIS Dancers Louisa and David reach towards Julie Hasushi who is wheeling in front of them. All three dancers are smiling, and wear eye masks brought by choreographer DJ Robinson. The masks aim to temporarily take away the vision of sighted dancers, so they may access other sensory modes of perception. White and yellow text reads information included above.

About the Choreo-Lab

The Lab offers an inclusive environment where established, disabled artists mentor their peers to challenge boundaries and create perception changing art. During the Lab participants will be led through a creation process stemming from their own concept, collaborating with an integrated group of performers including AXIS dancers and professional dancers from the local community. The Lab provides studio space, dancers, and administrative support for every choreographer. This opportunity also includes ongoing mentorship and professional development support in the year following the Lab.
