AXIS in Motion: Integrated Dance Class

Did you miss our Summer Intensive but still want to dance with us? You’re in luck!
Our AXIS in Motion community dance classes return with an in-person offering from our fabulous team of dancers, from 10-11am at our home base, Berkeley Ballet Theater!
Thanks to support from the California Arts Council, class is FREE to the public.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Disabled, non-disabled and neurodiverse participants of all experience levels are invited to join AXIS for an accessibility-driven contemporary dance class. We will begin with warmups designed to draw awareness to the full body, before moving on to technique and improvisation exercises that encourage all dancers to respond to the environment and each other with embodied joy.
ACCESS:
• Due to the communication access needs for our team, masks will not be required. However, masks are welcomed and encouraged for anyone who wishes to participate.
• Berkeley Ballet Theater is wheelchair accessible, with ADA accessible bathrooms. There is ample street parking, and a parking lot next door with several accessible parking spaces.
• Live auto-captions through otter.ai provided on screen. ASL interpretation to be confirmed.
• Although we cannot guarantee a completely scent-free space, AXIS’ goal is to make our events as fragrance-free as possible. Please do not wear fragrance or scented products when attending this event.
