Through our renowned Teacher Training programs, teachers, educators and administrators are given tools to and create an equitable, accessible and creative learning environment. Workshops and in-depth trainings include participatory exercises and activities for use in classrooms, as well as discussion about disability, language, and the development of AXIS’ extraordinary inclusive community education program. Our trainings are offered in two modules – completion of Module I is required to attend Module II.
We are excited to offer both an introductory workshop and our full Teacher Training this spring 2025 in partnership with Stanford Live. Please join us for the following events, which are offered at no cost to you. Don’t miss out on this free opportunity to learn from our comprehensive education curriculum.
🔸 Fundamentals of Inclusive Teaching – Feb 26th from 4:30 – 6:30pm
In this introduction to our teacher training curriculum, AXIS offers movement-based tools and resources for teachers and faculty working with diverse populations. The session includes learning and experiencing participatory exercises and activities for use in classrooms as well as discussion about disability, language, and the development of AXIS’ extraordinarily inclusive community education program.
🔸 Full Training (Modules I & II) – Mar 1st & 2nd, full days.
This training provides an opportunity for in-depth exploration of methods for teaching dance to disabled, non-disabled, and neurodiverse people. We’ll sample some of the AXIS curriculum through discussion and movement exercises, and then model an accessible dance classroom. This workshop is ideal for dance/movement educators and also provides valuable training for generalist teachers
